Str8 all the way.I just like the way they hit better and imo eaiser to clean.
Straights for SURE
They hit so clean and clear alot faster. They also look alot more proffessional IMO :-p
Except for this one SG 8 arm beaker.. That's the sexiest beaker ever

If you have the lung capacity beakers, if you don't then straights imo.

Yea just what toalex said. The beaker gives a better water to smoke ratio in the bong.
Basically meaning it can hold more smoke.
The one reason I don't like beakers is their tendency to break. With a straight tube if you break the base, which isn't that easy of a break because the bases are always thicker,it usually is an easy fix. Plus the bong is even usuable most of the time.
With a beaker if you break the base you break the bong and they can be more expensive to fix.

well ive hit a illadelph straight tube w/ perc and a beaker bottom illadelph side by side and the difference i noticed was drag and smoothness of the hits. The beaker bottom was crude and rude in your face while the straight with perc is something you close near and dear to your heart.
Vodka :beaver:
P.S rip illadelph 03/21/09 has been replaced with double perc roor with inline ashcatcher pics soon to come
Well of course the beaker was harsher if it didn't have a perc.. What do you expect?

I must say my beaker gets more use that my straight. Str8s give me tar lip, and for some reason my beaker dosent.

I have both and use them equally. I do like my beaker but I also like my straight... here are some pics....http://www.fullmeltbubble.com/gallery/files/2/1/5/3/Picture097_thumb.jpg (http://www.fullmeltbubble.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=8282&c=3&userid=2153) http://www.fullmeltbubble.com/gallery/files/2/1/5/3/Picture213_thumb.jpg (http://www.fullmeltbubble.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=9584&c=3&userid=2153)

comes down to size of hit, how you want it to clear. Clearing a beaker even with a tree perc. with little drag( hit a 4 arm tree perc Hedman beaker gave clean hits no tar lip) is diff. than clearing a str8 with multi-tree percs and a fixed stem. the beaker was slower.. but still clean maybe more concentrated..compared to my Hedman shower head 2* tree perc. I like them both, if you want a beaker that won't break check out Horny Glass tubes..mine is 9mm even in the base...

Beaker ftw.
If you don't have an a/c you don't have to clean the water as much. If you do have an a/c it just means that the water will filter more impurities out of the smoke due to the higher volume of water.
In theory taking longer for the water to become saturated with impurities.
I hope that made sence to people other than me!

what about a bubble bottom :)

Usually I prefer straights. I have a very, very slow draw and don't like it when the smoke in the beaker gets stale. Also, they clear faster, don't require as much water/grunge off, etc.
I'll never turn down good glass though, irregardless of whether its a straight, beaker, bubble, etc...
beaker bottoms bongs are made in my mind to be some heavy hitter, straights are just soft and nice

Depends on the tube....but bubbles are amazing on some tubes.

I had a bubble bottom Illadelph that I came to the conclusion was the best tube I've ever owned. I promptly smashed it the next day cleaning it in the sink. Suuuuuucked.

i've hit a 9mm us tubes bubble and omg that is hands down my next tube.
2 different friends of mine have a roor dealers cup beaker and an ehle straight. my mood depends on which i like better of those 2. a big (yet badass) hit from the RooR, or a quick snap from the ehle.
my personal DD is a layback inline. :)

Dude there are just so many different ways to alter the smoking experience, that is why glass is awesome. I could think of like 100 different designs that I would enjoy smoking out of

Guess I'm just a heavy hitter.
More water in the bong the happier I am.

I have a tube made by Elevate that is sort of a hybrid of the two. I call it a genie bottle but it is very similar in shape to a football. It is right at the bottom of the 22 or 23 inch tube and I can fill it with very little water, leaving the majority of the football shape as smoke chamber, thus acting like a huge beaker. Or I can fill up the majority of the football, taking away a lot of chamber space and adding drag to the tube, thus making it function like a straight. Overall one of my favorite tubes I've owned. Straights ftw imo.

It depends on the day. As my daily driver I prefer a quick snap from my straight tube, but when I feel like a bigger, heavier hit I usually go for the beaker. I don't prefer one over the other, really.
First post! :)
