Well i have been told about these roto grow's from a few friends of mine for the past few weeks. The numbers have sounded completely insane, and honestly fairly unbelievable. HOwever he did bring me this disc of photos and i had to share them with you all here.
Say what you will about the roto grow, but damn if these photos don't tell a sweet sweet story.

The numbers, i have heard 7 to 10lbs from 2 x 1000 watts. I know i know, im not making the claim just yet myself, but i had to share the pics, cause they did impress me.
I have a friend who is going to be getting one or two in the near future and will keep you all updated, cause seriously if these unit even can produce 4 to 5 lbs per 2 x 1000 bulbs, , in a six foot by six foot space ,with a total of 220plants. thats stilll wicked impressive in my book.
The units retail for 5700$
Peace
Bubble man

ps, the units can be purchased cheaper if you have your own lights and ballasts> but digital ballasts are recommended, as they can be dimmed when the plants are first introduced to the system and are tender.

Very cool. Wonder if that grow environment would be geared toward more of an indica-leaning lineage of cannabis, due to the short grow space. Would seem to be not-so sativa-friendly. Any thoughts on this?

Here's from roto-gro's website: "

The ROTOGRO garden is a flood and drain system. Plants are inserted into Rockwool type cubes, which are secured in the "quick drain trays". The garden is motorized and the trays revolved 24/Hrs a day around two center fixed HID Lamps.

It takes approximately one hour for the trays to complete one revolution. A pump is placed in the bottom main reservoir and when switched on, fills the top reservoir to desired depth. The "quick drain trays" are then revolved through the nutrient/water mixture feeding the plants. Once all the plants have been fed, the pump is switched off letting the nutrient/water mixture drain back into the main reservoir."

That is incredible if those are the real numbers, even the pictures are great, nice even canopy of nice buds. Do strains need to be more mold resistant in this type of system? They seem really packed in there.

thanks for the welcome bubbleman is this the only bubble themed site on the net ? dont think ive ever seen so much bubble info and pics in one spot before very nice mellow to .

i think bobdole was one of the few people to post roto grows on the net , and as i recall he only ran em one time then switched back to growing sog style in soil but that was a few years ago so its possible hes switched back to rotos and fine tuned em ive heard more then a couple people say that the yields are insane with the right strain.
his main complaint was they just took to many clones and limited the variety you could grow .

personally never thought about getting one rockwoll just isnt my thang ,but it would be a nice toy to have .

there was a bust near seattle a few years ago...the guy had 3 or 4 homemade units. they were twice the size, it was a huge spectical when the cops tried to haul 'em off. those numbers are wild. (my best is 10lbs/6-1000 watt hps/30 plant in 5g buckets and a big ass room) with the same layout, my partners pulled 17lbs but the used 12-1000watt hps. light intensity plays a roll but 5 or even 2.5 lbs per lamp? more than doubles what we've been doing for years. even the best growers would be stoked getting a gram per watt. (you'd save alot on buying bulbs though)
with limits on the number of plants allowed by medical law this machine may be better suited for 'outlaw' growers (im retired-legal now) plus you'd need a couple huge mother plants to keep enough babies around. babies can be tricky and fickle. the number of cutting you'd need to take alone... awww forget about it.
maybe after a few bumper crops i'll get one for the co-op and put it at a patient's house. idk...y0u tell me.

wow...high tec.

compare that to a pro that has a 1000w per 64square ft (8' by 8') cubical with a light mover and exhaust fan reflector so light can be as close as a foot.
loaded with a sea of green of 9inch 5gallon pots.

and averages 1.5 ounces of dryed manicured floral clusters per square ft.
times 64square ft = 96ounces per cubical with one 1000watt.
times two cubicles = 192 ounces =12lbs of dryed manicured floral cluster for two lights.
