Did 521 split up his set, Toro HeaD ?
Very nice tube either way, a good fire scheme never gets old.
...anyone else agree the GonG joint tubing on the Toro fixed stems could be shorter so that the bowl sits closer to the tube ? I think it would make 'em look a lot better. A certain other "curved style" on another logo looks a lot sleaker and less prone to breaking, IMHO.
Just my $0.02. Only thing stopping me from buying a Toro fixed stem.

Yep, just a good camera/lens and a couple of different sized cheap light tents and lights from ebay, a shutter remote is also a good idea.

09-20-2009, 10:35 PM
Definitely. You can use any lights, too. Just have to make sure to set your white balance correctly for incandescent lighting. You can make your own lightbox, or buy them. I've made quite a few and they've all worked out wonderfully.

most likely because it constricts the flow of air.

Probably gotham, I didnt see any at NY gifts and I was their Sunday.
Putting a disk in the bottom would just restrict air flow and you would have to put more water in it. It works beautifully the way it is. I wouldn't change a thing!! It totally beats the old design. I like the old design but this one is a 1000 times better. It hits better and still has the attachments. I want to get a gridded attachment!!! Can you say diffusion!

lol....please never repeat this.
Its like saying, "is this house triple built?"
It really makes ZERO sense.
That term "double blown" or "triple blown!!" is used by sellers of cheap import glass, to fool people into thinking its some real tech that makes the glass thicker.

no its to that retard golfin that said " WOW that things sucks only 1 downstem?!" loloLO!!!
Really!!!!???? Where in the hell did I say that thing sucked ???????
I said it was a NOVELTY tube, and that it was WEAK, and I was DISAPPOINTED. I'd still buy one if it was cheap enough, just for the wow factor. Still doesn't mean its not disappointing.
I was comparing it to what it could be, the sickest tube on the market. If it only comes with one downstem, thats WEAK AND DISAPPOINTING. And a NOVELTY tube. No reason to have that big ass joint with only one downstem, making it NOVELTY.
Not to mention...you call me a ""retard"" for stating my opinion. You are the dumb and uneducated one, as you've shown by that statement. If you insist on name calling.
You're opinion stating that its the greatest thing in the world is no more valid than my opinion saying its weak.
I thought they taught you this in like, third grade ?
Really dont have anything better to do then call people names on a message board after they didnt give the review you wanted to see?
I feel bad for ya..

id like to see how all the other attachmants work on it, keep us posted brotha!
I will be getting more attachments for it. They only had this one attachment ready when they sent mine too me. Golfin you have like 16 posts here, you think you could behave yourself please! This tube is definately not WEAK! Its thick and strong. Just because I only recieved one attachment doesnt make it weak. They are brand new Sir! It stands 16.5 inches tall, and hits like a champ. I love it because it has less volume than the original design did. Nothing WEAK about it!

If they all come with 6 downstems, then I retract my previous comment.
Should have made that clear....I asked for more pics, and you posted like 10 more pics with that same downstem and have never once mentioned it comes with other downstems(until now).
Just a misunderstanding.
Behave myself? All I did was state my opinion. You'd think it made your dick shorter, with the reaction I got.
Perhaps I missed the part in the rules where it states you can not post a differentiating opinion on here ?

well incorrect opinions arent allowed.. Expecially if your wrong and bashing a tube when you dont know what your talking about. Dude, whats the difference weather you get the attacments now or later? They dont have to come with it expecailly when the tubes arent even for sale yet..

And there not called 6 in 1 onlyhighgrade? That was a name that 521 made up. So saying it is not correct because it is a 6 in 1 isnt valid. Only because jp never called it a 6 in 1 just us!!

He obviously just joined up and has probably never heard of Toro and does not know his shit.
Dank, are all of these gonna be bent neck or did you just opt for that? Its definitely a beast man. I love it.
Slow down everyone
1. Did you know that I hooked up Dank, and am hooking Basak up with the new stemless design? The reason that I did this is because they were the two original owners of the two prodotypes that we put out there. They were stand up folks about it, so I felt that I wanted to hook them up--something I do often for my customers. I told them I was sending them one attachment with the new design, and they have the option for more if wanted
2. When someone purchases a multioption piece of ours, it will come with one basic accessory, again, with the option to buy more. There are several reasons for this.
A. It keeps the cost down for the initial purchase-
B. It allows people to save for another date to add accessories
C. Technically, there are 9 different variations for the piece--the bottom parts are only 3 t At The Moment--the tree design, the circulator, and the all in one tree-- you can get any one of the 3 bottoms with a glycerin attachment on top or a chubbler--
3. We are going to make sure that soon enough all those that carry TORO will have in stock all of the different accessory options
I hope that this helps with all of the assumptions---I remember my seventh grade teacher saying that ASSUME means--- to make an ASS out of U and ME--I never forgot that one!
Basack
09-30-2009, 09:13 PM
Ha! ASS out of U and ME lol!!.. This is a very optional tube. And just because it doesnt come with 6 downstems doesnt mean the tube only is used with 1 downstem lol. More downstems will be avail like you said WAK, but im not to sure that golfin kid knew to much about glass. its not like more downstems can be created, bubblewraped, and put in a box lol. just like the old sg kings. They only came with 1 downstem.. Anyways, cant wait to try the new design! Thanks again wak!!!

and the new perc style design is pretty cool, i love the worked sections on that tube, but doesnt his new dome/tree style, that is admittedly very solid, look alot like an upside down inverted tree from SG.. if you look at your SG splash guard, turn that upside down and it looks like that brand new fixedstem.

SG doesnt have any percs like that.
It does look similar to the SG splashguard in some ways yea.
But this is a new tree/dome hybrid nobodys done before.

yea it is new, what im saying is it looks like an inverted tree.. only upside down, the inverted tree is the SG splashguard and he does have tubes with just those (inverted tree's) in them. they are fixed stems and diffuse like monsters!
Golfin
10-03-2009, 06:12 PM
Maybe....Been lookin at the SG inverted trees for a minute now and cant quite tell how they work to be honest.
Cant tell where theyre sealed in.
Basack
10-03-2009, 07:10 PM
There not sealed. Its just a hole and the tree is hovering abovE it by 4 reinforments. But the water does get forced through the slits.
Golfin
10-03-2009, 07:35 PM
Im still confused.
but regardless, those SG inverted percs arent one piece like these are. On those each tree arm is suspended by itself, as opposed to these where the tree connects all to itself and the longest stretch of tree arm is a few cm's.

Pretty much like everyone else is saying, I'm in love with some of these black pieces.
I don't understand why more glassblowers don't use black when they make stuff, I think it looks so awesome.... especially when it's tastefully used such as in these tubes and A/C's.

Its an 18.8mm female joint on the tube, and then a 18.8-14.5mm bushing reducing adapter. With the Snic slide obviously being 14.5mm.
Most likely around 3500-3700.

......as for my orange 7/13 toro which you can see on page 3 of this thread ... 3 of the trees in the 13-perc broke off. rendering that perc unusable. I contacted IG (Ithaca's Glass) who in return contacted the toro crew explaining my situation. ive never understood the whole 5mm 7mm and 9mm argument. Just be careful with your glass and it will treat you well. Glass is going to break when it gets dropped on to a hard surface regardless of glass thickness.

Well I bought a 3.2mm .de RooR LS (beaker so it's even thinner) as my first decent DD, while I was very careful with it I did manage to send it flying onto a concrete floor covered by some cheap carpet with no underlay and it survived without a mark, a few months later when I got some more serious glass I gave it to my best mate who has used it as a daily driver for the last several years and it's still as good as the day it was bought....

Ya 3.2 mm are thin as hell, I don't trust myself to own a piece less that 5 mm or at least a 4.2mm zumo. As for Toro, they are killing ot as always. Got one question for the Toro owners out there, why is everyone buying and getting rid of the circ-circ's so quickly? Is the drag killer on them compared to the 7-13's?
OnlyHighGrade
11-03-2009, 07:47 PM
imo the circs have considerable less drag than the arms.

Yep, and circ/circ Toro's have only recently been put into full production so the demand is high allowing those who are interested in flipping for profit to make a few more $$ off of them, if you noticed when they come up they don't last long ;)

Think I might keep them all is that insane of me.. Then I would just confuse meself on which one to hit on everyday lol.. I would like to find some matching ash catchers at some point..

That is one weird looking toro. i see it being very harsh but hence prodo type to work things out. just seems like to big of chamber for the height of the toob.
Masshole
12-24-2009, 05:17 PM
i see it being very harsh
why would you say that?
I agree that it's very "different" but definitely in a good way. I'm feelin that design.
ToRo Head
12-25-2009, 05:09 AM
why would you say that?
I agree that it's very "different" but definitely in a good way. I'm feelin that design.
The reason i think it would be harsh is because one its a short toob but mainly is look at how big the inline chamber would be then only so much toob from the chamber to the mouth pieace. just seems like it would really be alot of smoke so quick and its a single chamber!
BurningDownTheHouse
12-25-2009, 05:29 AM
It's not a single chamber, clearly is a double chamber and this stemless design pictured above was a prototype and it seems that jp may use circ's in the bottom of these and offset the perc chamber
BY WAK-
More options of the JP perc!
Oh, it is just the beginning of the different possibilities--every time I come into the shop, JP is working on a new concept!
I had to tag the offset percs, the JP perc, because unintentionally, the angles of these new designs on the tubes form a "J" and a "P"--I couldn't help but notice when I first saw these!!! lol!!!
--so this one is the double circ JP perc--check it out! thanks!
ps sorry for the crappy pics!!! definitely not our forte!

As far as future toro, I don't see why they don't put out some inline-reinforced 13s and some inline-circs; I'm not feeling all this awkward looking perc business.
Glassaholic
01-02-2010, 09:58 PM
I'd love to see a mini inline/reinforced 13, I'd buy it in a heartbeat unlike the majority of these prototypes he's been coming up with.

01-02-2010, 10:02 PM
ha everyone and they're mother loved the toro inlines, yet they're out of production!?
whats this business that he dont want to make them anymore?! nonsense..
to me, it feels like hes attempting to make innovations like SG's gridcap, gridline, inverted4, etc.. but this tube is pure functionality and no beautiful aesthetics like Sovereignty tubes possess.
endoklino
01-02-2010, 11:24 PM
those prototypes are hideous!!!
mini inline to 13!! would be the shizznit.
No worries--before JP started these new percs, he prepped out a bunch of the fixed inlines--so they will be coming soon to some stores that have been very patiently awaiting them--as for why he stopped making them, JP is good friends with hops, and out of respect to Hop's design, he only puts out limited numbers--because Hops is the man!!!
Once again, as JP said, if art was judged by function, then the JP perc would be quite a piece of art!!! No worries, he knows it's not the most asthetically pleasing--ahh, but he loves it! So if you don't like it, then it's as easy as don't buy it. No worries.
