Well this is going to be in the summer issue of cannabis culture magazine, but i figured i would give you all here at fullmeltbubble a sneak preview. I went and shot his garden the other day and was very stoked to see the male's in the room> Two big northern lights mailes, pollinating a variety of lovely sativa ladies. Here are just a few shots from the day. many more to come, but have hours on the computers going thru files before that will be a reality.

I guess i should have let you know as well what strains we were looking at.
The top shot is a djshort blueberry that the doc has crossed with the northern lights male and will be calling it Blueberry Jam. the second trichome shot with the purple in it, is also the blueberry . The second trichome shot with the greener background is a superskunk plant that he has also hit the with the NL male, and is going to be calling Shiva. The next two shots are also shiva.
The next shot is a long panoramic shot of trichome's and is a cambodian sativa that the doc collected while there on a trip some years ago. This one had an incredible haze smell to it, that i will definitly be paying close attention to.

The last two photos are of male pollen pods. THese are from the Northern Lights Male that the doc is using in this project.

The photos i have described here are all the first photos of this thread.
I say that cause now i am going to add a few more shots i edited today> ALL male shots, i wanted to share here with you all some photos of the glandular male. I think any breeder that isnt using a glandular male , may want to look at getting one.

What a nice site Bubbleman !
This is my first post :) Unfortunatly im working on a ship and they have websense. Will be back home shortly so i can post some pics on this FANTASTIC site.

Very nice thread indeed. Its great seeing the whole pollination process. Been only growing from seed and cloning but never bred anything. This finally gives people a really good look at how you can cross pollinate just with one keeper male and a large variety of female plants !

Some updated shots from doc atomics garden of love. The seeds where bursting from some of the pods, ( will put some up soon), but for now i've got trichome shots.

Thanks green machine for the tip on lowering my fstop, i thought it would destroy what little depth of field i was working with, but i was surprised it didnt.

enjoy..

The above shots by the way are as follows. FIrst shot is a SSH X BB X NL and then hit again with male pollen ( its a seeded plant that i shot ).
Next two are from the Superskunk plant that has also been hit with the NL male pollen.

These shots are from thai lights, and are pretty unique, you can see in the cropped seed shot that the pistilite hair has male pollen stuck on it near the entrance of the seed pod.
Maybe one day we can take a picture inside the pistilite hair.

Enjoy

Thanks for the good words green, i really gotta thank green machine for the tip as it made my trichome shots turn out soo much clearer and crisper.

I wanted to add this seed shot out of the blueberry as it reminded me of an ann gedes picture. It almost looks like the seed is a baby face, and the little bract top is the hat.
kinda funny...

Very nice. Male shots are awsome. Plants are awsome. Wish I had space for breeding males naturally like that. I usually kill my boys quick and keep thier powdery dingleballs in the freezer.

...The second trichome shot with the greener background is a superskunk plant that he has also hit the with the NL male, and is going to be calling Shiva.

That interesting. Is he changing the formula? On the vendor sites, it states that he "developed this strain from Shiva (an Afghani strain), along with NL and Super Crystal."

Three years ago, I smoked some 'Shiva' that was mailed from Vancouver and it is still mentioned as a favorite by my inner circle. I've always been on the lookout for that pheno.

Bubbleman
05-03-2008, 11:42 PM
This has nothing to do with that shiva easybakeindica. THis is a doctor atomic original that is merely getting a name that has already been used for a past strain>
mainly due to his appreciation of shiva and the shivite baba's he's hung out with over the past thirty years.

I took that description from Dr. Atomic's listing of 'Shiva.' at SB.

"Dr. Atomic developed this strain from Shiva (an Afghani strain), along with NL and Super Crystal. Short and compact with big buds. Typical sedating Indica effect; the perfect pain killer or couch surfer bud."

I just want to know if that's supposed to be the same Dr. Atomic original.

Hey easybaked, not sure what to say> I will have to call doc atomic and find out whats up. I am just going from what he told me about these seeds.
I did find that description on a few other website, but all have no stock in. Perhaps that shiva is from his nepaly seed batch from some years ago, but not sure why he would go and call another strain shiva. lol
i will post back when i hear back from him

a distant cousin is what the doctor has told me. he says he is in the middle of doing a new description for this strain, so hopefuly he will be able to explain a little more in that.

I want my seeds to break the soil by june first and Im trying to gather more info on this strain. Are the breeders description of shiva inaccurate? Could somone let me know what to expect. The breede rs package had no discription
