Extracted from 40 grams of broken up buds. Frozen for around 4-6 hours prior to extracting with the Bubble Now machine.

Ran the extraction last night with only one, 9-minute washing cycle. Used 1.25 bags of ice in the process...probably could have done with just a single bag looking back. hehe

The hash patties are still giving off moisture so I have them continuing to air dry on cardboard. Hopefully will be ready by early next week so I can try and sell it to a dispensary. The final picture on the white lids is from a few moments ago to show you the color change occurring as they dry.

Enjoy the pics!

Would have only taken 4 days to dry chopped up as powder on cardboard. Then you could have pressed it if you had too. Good luck. Peace GS

They haven't been drying a total of 24 hours yet (as of this reply). I wait usually a day or two after my initial pressing before chopping it up into powder; gets more of the water out of the trichome pulp if you press it prior to drying.

I also use a glass bottle to continually smooth and roll out the patties during this time.

It's just a matter of taste in the end, I've dried both ways and I like the sheen the initial pressing gives the pieces of hash once dried and cut up for weighing out doses.

Just sucks having a strain in my hands that I don't care for the effect of. LOL Karma!

What strain did you use homie? Philly seed, really? Also what do those patties weigh wet now, and can you tell us what they are once dried please thank you man!

Hi Ja,

The seeds were bag seed I saved from some mid-grade I bought in Philadelphia back in March. I was impressed with the quality of the buzz for mids, so I kept the seeds to use as a "practice" grow since I was already in the process of getting relocated to Cali to become a cannabis patient.

All I can tell you from growing it once is that it is a very unstable strain. I had 3 unique phenos present themselves and all of them grew airy, sativa-style buds. Flavor is very mild, but it is sweet when present...again another sign of its genetic instability.

The total weight of the patties after I hand rolled them last night was 5 grams. It was extracted from 40 grams of frozen buds.

I've broken them up by hand tonight to aid in the drying and preparing them for curing. Probably by tomorrow night or Monday at the latest it'll be ready to go. hehe I'll post pics once everything is dry.

Peace,

The hash looks like really nice quality... howev3er drying them in paddies is definitly NOT the way to go.
I would break those up asap... otherwise the moisture content in your hash will eventualy soften it and make it start losing form.
THe hash should always be powdered before drying and spread thin on the cardboard so the cardboard can do its job which is to pull moisture down from the hash.

I can tell its sick quality... just a matter of drying it differently and you will find it smokes sooo much nicer as well..

props on the thread for sure... we need MORE HASH THREADS>>.

Wow, thanks for the tips Bman!

I'm just converting over from dry sift to water extraction...I didn't realize it would make a difference (I was following Subcool's advice about hand pressing it over night after the extraction), but I am all about improving the quality of my hashish. :)

See below for the continued hand press/curing process pic updates. I test-smoked the little bit of the 160u I had...and that was a bit rough on the lungs, but it was definitely a smooth hitting quality; and the flavor was on par with both the 73u and 25u paddies...just smoldered a lot more than they did.

Last night I hand pressed all the smaller pieces into cubes. This morning there was no more sign of moisture escaping the hash, and the aroma is developing nicely. Probably by tomorrow it'll be completely smokeable (at this present rate of drying). Both the 73u and 25u are full-melt. The 73 has the better/stronger flavor content in both the inhale and exhale. All three sifts deliver a fast buzz. Starts in my sinuses and behind my eyes and takes over the face pretty fast. No sweats or chills, it's a milder sativa in that regard...but still very nice. :)

great job man. i think if you sprayed each bag you pull with a clean water mist you might eliminate some of the green sheen your getting in your 73 and 25. your description of the smoke was awesome.
