Hey, I think I read somewhere on here that Bubbleman is going to have a new product available soon - some kind of dry sift tumbler. Sound familiar? Also, do you know when or how much or anything? Thanks

Do you mean a bubble box?

No, it's a cylindrical thing surrounded by mesh that spins.

I did see a cell video of Bubbleman testing a new tumbler. Can't seem to find the link. It looks like a Pollenator but nicer. All wood construction, and they were testing different voltage plugs to get a top quality sieve. Also has a cool collection tray that pulls out. AS always we can expect a top notch product from Bubbleman!

I am interested in this product. I love tasty dry sift. I was looking into getting a bubble box, but maybe I will wait and see what develops in this thread.

I watched these vids as well, it looked pretty solid. I recall it being written or mentioned in the video that the unit was to be out "between Christmas and New Year's." So hopefully pretty soon. I too am looking forward to getting one. Any confirmation on eta, Bubbleman?
It seems as though it would be ideal to do a large run through the tumbler, and proceed to refine/clean up with a bubble box. My two cents. :)
Edit: Link to (tentatively named, I believe) bubblesifter vids

Bubbleman was talkin bout puttin screens under the tumbler if i remember correctly so you can seperate the differant trichome sizes just like his bubblebox.
And ya i can't wait until this comes out.

if u could build one of these with a mini blast freeze unit attached and some thing that turns very slow while the head's are cold so as to not irritate the plant material to much? would it produce a higher quality sift?

^^That sifter uses a much bigger screen than the one b'man talked about in the video though. That one has a 180u on the barrell, and b'man said the one in the video was 120; 180 would be too big for melty bubble, no?

the APE extractor has 180 micron mesh, this is way too open for great quality dry sift...120 ~ 140 micron meshes produce a much cleaner end result
and another fault with that APE extractor is that it spins around really fast...insanely fast!

The APE uses a different technology then most of the Tumblers out there. The Faster motor and large Screen Size is just a example of the different technology. These are for a reason, Most tumblers, spin so the material just rolls around on the screen, causing more plant debris to break down causing contamination to your resin powder. The APE's motor speed allows for the plant material to Bounce on the Screen releasing the Resin Glands and not breaking down the plant material.
I am smoking 30 minute Hash from the APE and love it!! Best Tumbler Hash I have smoke here in the USA in awhile.

interesting. i am a believer that larger screensize gives better results.
i harvest more whole unbroken trichomes using paint strainers for 5gal
buckets than 190u screening. with no increase in green matter.
pressed kif from whole trichomes smells and tastes better.and this is not only my opinion
i got a 7gal food grade bucket and cut the ends off. reconnected with metal rods to form squirrel cage. barbeque spiget thru middle. hand crank on end. place in plastic lined box. squirrell cage has paint strainer bag
drawn around it. load with 1/4 elbow at a time. light 5 minutes of cranking i take time to clean pot. then stuff pot into gallon ziplocks and placed in freezer for ice/water full melt.
with light dry sifting before ice/water extraction i have increased grams of kif from product.
with the bigger netting you don't have to beat the sht out of product as much. and i'm telling you if done right less green stuff.
oh aqualab i've almost out grown my rezinizer wash machine. working for the dispensarys. thinking about getting a real washmachine and just loading up machine with ice and produce without everything in strainerbag.
taking drysift and putting in seal a meal bag. submurge in 170 degree water for 3 hours. place sealed bag in freezer for several hours.
this cured decarboxylized product is sweet not harsh and the high
is eurphoric. sweet dark colored. important to freeze because seal a meal bag sucks down tight and slightly compresses resin.

is part of that "different technology" centrifugal force by any chance? (lol)

I'm sure it's great, quality starting material = quality dry sift every time...but that's just part of the story, great hash starts with plants grown to perfection, careful handling during harvest and drying, then aging etc..

If it works for you, go for it......open meshes are good for material that is recently dried as the resin is much tackier, but this does not apply to well aged material. Note that Sam the Skunkman and just about every commercial producer of dry sift waits at least 3 or 4 months before working the material, there's several reasons for this.
with light dry sifting before ice/water extraction i have increased grams of kif from product.
there's only X amount of resin heads on the material to begin with, with all things being equal, a light dry sift before ice hashing won't increase any yield over ice hashing alone....but you are right, if you are going to dry sift then ice hash the material, it's best to do a very light (dry) sift then ice it
with the bigger netting you don't have to beat the sht out of product as much. and i'm telling you if done right less green stuff.
when dry sifting, the first 20% of resin heads will pass through the mesh with very little contaminant, you could even initially work the material over an insect mesh from your window for a few minutes and still get very nice "blonde" quality...that's the easy part, the other 80% requires a different approach
happy hashing!

Sweet b-man. I'm gonna order mine soon. I see its 125u and a 70u. Any thoughts on different sizes? I was woundering if ones for different types of strains would work? Cause don't sativa's usally have smaller heads then say a full blown indica?? or would it be good to run the stuff through bags after to get some of the bigger heads?
But it looks great i love the wood construction no plastic to static on too.

I just had a brain fart. could you use a bubblenow bag inside the tumbler and collect the heads/leaf that end up in the tumbler for cooking like you would with the bubblebags??? And still end up with the melty dry sift on the screen??

Bubbleman mentions on the video that this is a prototype.....there's a few differences between this prototype and the finished product
check out the Tumble Now on the bubblebag site :

it has a stainless steel mesh cylinder, 3 lid hinges, 200 mesh flat screen frame and other features added.

Nice, I am guessing dry the trim first eh, not fresh frozen like for bubble?
Kif it Kunta
07-15-2010, 01:36 PM
you must use dry plant material, bud and or leaf...that's why it's called "dry sifting"
you can dry sift just dried trim, but for best results and a much higher yield etc, it's best to process bud that has been stored correctly for several months or more....plant material dries in a week or two, but the resin heads or trichomes take months to become drier and less tacky.
happy hashing!

I love some delicious quality fullmelt, but it's disscouraging with how rarely I get my hands on a decent amount of quality material. I have a 1 gallon 8 bag set, that I get fo use every once in awhile, but I'm really interested in the TumbleNow. Just wondering if anyone knew how well it worked with smaller amounts (1-3 ounces). Would really appreciate any info.
I know it's good idea to put your material in the freezer before doing an ice/water run, wouldn't it be a good idea to do the same thing for a dry sift too?
Let me know what's up guys, LongLive FullMelt

I'm in the same boat Major, not enough starting material.
I don't have a Tumble Now yet, but like any tumbler, you are not restricted by a minimum, only the maximum amounts to put in the tumbler....so it's ok to run half an ounce of sugar leaf or bud or 4 or 5 ounces worth.
Yes it works, pre-freezing your dry sift material will initially improve purity.
bman r any of these at trim scene solutions? id love one Thanks again bman for another quality product blessings

you may want to get rid of your squirrel cage.
less movable parts to break
no dicking around with this.you can watch the resin glands rain down
one threaded rod with nuts running thru that round green container is all that holds it on.remove the green and replace with rectangular storage container and snap lid with vynal screening. shake rattle and roll.
oh you have to screw it to the floor. or will walk all over. aha ha hee!
