Whats the Best Grow Method for Hash?

Before I invest to much time in reading a book on
growing what exactly should I be looking at if the
soul purpose of my grow is to make hash from it.
I plan to grow three plants.
Is a simple soil grow the best method?
Or is a more complex hydro method needed?
Can I even grow three plants using a hydro method?
