i guess it's called an ash catcher but it has a flat top so it works great for what i need it for, hash.

i'm still slightly new to glass terms... what is diffused?

Little holes in the bottom of the downspout makes it less chubble and more smooth. Less chance of putting the flame out and easier to draw. Peace GS
