I said I have a crap taste in music and that my own musical creations are crap, and I STAND BY MY WORDS. I've had messages from supporters saying "no way could your stuff be crap man, I reckon your taste in music is awesome", but I'm a man of my words.

Allow me to start on a light-hearted note! .... I'll start off with one of the first tracks I made, one that catapulted me to stardom in the eyes of my mother if not at least two of my friends, it's basically part of a track with comedian Bobcat Goldthwait mixed in. The song isnt by me, its by Bedrock, I just mixed over the top of it. I'll upload some of my own proper creations as opposed to just mixes later :)

I hope you tolerate it!!

This one I simply called 'Rebirth' geniusly because it was the first song I ever made using the Rebirth program. It was also my last song made in Rebirth, because not long afterwards it was superceded by their newer program Reason. Rebirth is easier to use but Reason is much, much more powerful.

Basically all it is is a constant synthesizer, heaps of drum loops that I created, and in the middle i mixed a helicopter fly-by sound into it. Unlike the previous song which is a mix of an existing song and somebody elses vocals, this is 100% my creation with the exception of the helicopter sample.

And yeah I know - it's sooooo lame and you'd never hear anything like it at a club or anything, but it was a shitload of fun to make and thats all that matters to me, but it took a long time, especially making the drum loops so I'm hesitant to go back and make another one like it. I've since bought 'Double Bass Mania 2' drum loops, which will still require me to thread all the loops together but at least itll cut out the painfully slow beat-by-beat construction that ive had to do in the past, and allow me to concentrate on the more FUN aspects of putting stuff together, which is what I'm all about - having fun with it, not taking it too seriously.

GUITARRRRRrrrrs, RRRRrrrr !! ;)

I love guitars ... if only I could play the bloody things ... :)
I'm just a self-taught home jammer who just plays because electric guitars are the coolest fucking instruments on the planet and they just feel so damn good to play!!!

I'm better at rhythm than lead, and in this song I'm just crunching out nothing but powerchords over the top of a song called Grinspoon - Balding Matters, taken in one cut

This is what I mean about being better at rhythm guitar than lead ;)

Sweet Child o Mine by Guns'n'Roses has one of the greatest solos of all time, but its not very easy to play .... nevertheless I just *had* to give it a go! So I plugged in my Cry Baby From Hell wah pedal, tried to find a similar tone (and failed miserably!), and this is the result .... as you can tell I've still got a lotttt of work to do! but DAMN it is fun to play!!!!!!

This next song is more of an experiment than anything else - rather than using my guitar I used a synthesizer in the Reason program to create an artificial electric guitar. I routed that synthesizer through a distortion device to add the grunge to the guitar. All the drum beats were created one by one, which is why the track only goes for about 45 secs.

My conclusion was that you cant really make realistic guitar sounds artificially with software like Reason, BUT it could still be very useful for small fill-ins (consider for example in The Prodigy's "Voodoo People" how there's just one guitar sample). I think i'll stick to the real axes though

Kaneda nah mate i'll stick with drop D tuning for now simply because i've been trying to master a small handful of riffs before i start messing around with other tunings, maybe early in the new year :)
