LOL he's asking about your BULGE... What's really downunda?!?!
Lol, that's a bushing adapter TH, the slide is 14mm ;)
Lol, the preceedings to this comment were pretty funny.
I wanted to ask someone who had experience with these but never have; does using a bushing adapter cause much drag on your tubes, or really affect the hit in any way?
I see a ton of 14mm bowls these days that I want but I have fixed stems and none of them are 14mm.
Knowing you have one should be a good enough indicator, but I'm sensitive about my hit, I like very consistent flow.
There is no difference at all to the hit between an 18 or a 14 /w bushing adapter.
Balling, think I'll pick up an adapter then. Unfortunately I missed the boat on the slide I wanted. :( A revere window that was on Shinobi.
what was the SG in those last pictures? Really I just don't know what the bottom fixed stem type of diffusion is called. A Grid Perc?
It's a prototype fixed grid to grid dome.
love the Hefe Hedman action there Glass...aHolic...
keep up the great pics...
A bushing adapter like this one from Aqualabs

Is meant to stay on the slide so when you pull the slide to clear it comes with it so you clear through an 18.8 joint as per normal, when milking the smallest point of constriction is the hole in the push so effective joint size at that point is no different between a 14.5 or 18.8 slide.
I'm guessing you're either talking about an 18.8/14.5 bushing diffuser which is another kettle of fish or you're kecking the adapter in place on the joint of the tube.
I agree bassak i def notice a difference not huge but theirs def a bit less flow. ive owned 2 14s a jason lee and a deppe. the deppe hits a thousand times better then the lee did but jlee does most of his slides with really small pushes which didnt help at all. mostly bewteen the 2 the hole in the push was everything. the deppe is perfect so not much of a difference the lee was small and hit like crap.
wow glass u thought me something new i didnt know u were suppost to keep that on the slide. ill b trying that next time i use the deppe on the toro hops!
Yeah, that's why you notice a difference because by leaving the adapter on the joint/diffy you are in effect turning the entire joint into a 14.5mm, when it stays on the slide when you pull it it stays at 18.8mm.
it's not about the size of the push ( the indent into the glass where the bud goes), but the punch ( the actual hole in the push) is what determines how it'll hit.
but that's only as far as slides goes.
right on, which is exactly why an ice pinch slide, or a disc or something of that nature will flow even more than a push, because theres more room for air to pass through. I have a 18/14 reducer made by SGW that I use all the time, but ya it definately doesnt cut down on the air flow, its all in the push hole/ice pinch.
I want to get a multi hole push to try as well, for a hakko I like holes better but for a flame the icepinch is great.
Yea, the SG 4 hole slide flows great, I got one when I picked up a gridcap/8 and it functions awesome.. Ive used it on my mini waffle before and gotten it to stack well past the ice pinches with the 4hole. Definately worth picking one up if you can. You wont be let down, never used a LW disc though. SGW also has a "web" bowl too I believe, would like to try one of those too.
that's absolutely beautiful, great grab
Thanks man :)
So you can smoke out of that bowl as a normal dry piece?
No, it's purely a slide.
Dude I love those pipe slides, looks like that's the one off chico... what's the situation with the carb and mouthpiece when you use it as a slide? Are there tiny little corks or does it just breathe?
Yeah it's from CK. The carb and mouthpiece are purely cosmetic and don't have a hole at the other end .
Man that's cool. Me want. I'm looking at the fire v black one seriously contemplating.
nice freeek. loving the black joint. first piece i've seen signed 2010, thanks for sharing, as always.
yea thats crazy i wonder why they put the carb and mouth pieace on the slide like that! def cant have a hole or it would not work but why would the blower in genral do that??????
So it looks like a functional bubbler, if you didn't have the mouthpiece or snorkel carb it'd just look like a worked bowl and wouldn't be a pipe bowl lol.
Yeah, they're supposed to be to scale replicas of heady bubblers. Sweet idea I think.
that freeek slide is off the HOOK
personally i'm not pakoh's biggest fan, not really into blasted glass in general, but somehow you happen to have 2 pieces of pakoh I really dig. that slide is really nice and uniqe. thanks for sharing.
Thanks, I feel the same way about the majority of blasted work.
Here's a new Freeek;

Hey glass how do u go about useing a tear drop slide????? i made the mistake of buying a hefe drop for one of my toros got it and couldnt even light the dank with out it falling right out or tryed turning it and couldnt see what i was lighting!
My tear drops are suitable for fixed stems, the push in them is closer to a normal angle than a lot of them are, also using a Hakko or Phedor in my case stops anything falling out ;)
That Freeek was the first I had ever owed that was suitable for a fixed stem. The push is almost flat so your stuff wont fall out. All other Freeks ive owed are at an angle.
My new salt mini tube arrived today from BF, I also picked up a matching curve by Josh S to match at the same time;
