I suppose I'm basically echoing what everyone else said. Kudos to the mods who make FMB and the glass market possible! I'm anxious to see all of the changes.

I've been around for a while and I love this forum. Big thanks to bubbleman and fullmelt. As for the glass market it was a great part of the community, but change is good. It allowed me to purchase some heady pieces that I would not have been able to cop any other way. My question is why is there people with one post, posting in this thread saying they want the glass market back. Why don't you contribute something to this community more than just using it as a buy and sell arena.
Not sure what happened, but since the Glass Market went down the site looks like garbage when I use Google Chrome (but not with FF). Just a heads up.
yea same here, looks fine with ff but shitty with safari
^^^^ agreed. Not being critical of the designers work, more so it might be the way it's functioning. The set up looks totally different depending on what application I use. FF definitely being superior over Safari.
How will newer members like myself be granted access into the market if it is private? I have not made a purchase or sale but have the money for one when the market comes back and i need some glass.

I can't speak for other members but I get really sketched out when someone with no posts starts PMing me asking if they can come to my house to buy glass instead of going through the market and having it shipped. or being messaged randomly by someone that they have such and such for sale and how it's a killer deal.

in the glass market there was a sticky thread with a buyer seller beware thread.. in there you will find the positive and negative rep that people have received..
unfortunately that thread was in the market that is now closed.. if possible FMB you should move that thread over to the new section so people still have that as a reference..
I guess this means no more silently lurking the glass market. No biggie though, I understand that this change is with good intentions. Hopefully I'll get to see it again one day.

So I'm guessing Bman and the mods are going through that thread and compiling all the positive reps? I always considered it to be ridiculously too cluttered and disorganized to function so I never even posted about my successful transactions and never checked if anyone said anything about me. One question, is there a section in the user cp to see if the rep is positive or negative and is there an option to add a message to the rep?
The other forum I was talking about has both of these...
EDIT: I also can't seem to add any rep to anybody. As soon as I click the rep button it just sends me to the top of the page. Anybody elses profile like this?
I also think the rep system should be weighted. Or possibly install a 3rd party system that verifies you are who you say you are and live where you say you live etc. A simple verification of this would[should] grant access to reputation, or something along those lines.
Basically it shouldn't be a free rep-market in my opinion, based on other sites I've belonged to, their approach, and the final opinionated outcome.
quit worrying so much about the glass market coming back. i'm sure if they fuck it up bad enough someone will start a new one somewhere else...
IMO rep systems are too easily abused there should be some other measure of a person other than how many friends they have on a certain site.
