ok so more of a general question (6-8oz frozen now) - how 'smelly' is the process, given that the material is frozen and everything kept very cold?

The process isn't really smelly. It might smell resin a little while running the machine but NOTHING compared to the smell of a weed joint.
I never been shocked by the smell while making bubble. Just a quick odor of resin when you drain your machine, thats all.
