    Cool Jazz

This is a thread dedicated to Jazz music. If you're a fan of jazz, post away.

Discuss anything Jazz related, maybe your favorite artists/bands new or old, or maybe even about how much you despise jazz, equally interested in the critics opinions as well I'm also looking forward to other people recommending jazz i haven't heard

So I'll start the thread off by sharing some one of my favorite styles of jazz*

From the "old" days of jazz, dixieland style jazz

This man is really known as the one of true founders of jazz music, or at least famous or putting it out there and influencing the jazz musicians from the 30s to present time

Louis Armstrong aka "Satchmo" on May 8, 1954 at

University of North Carolina Memorial Hall - Chapel Hill, NC

ok.. let me start off saying this....i am a MASSIVE jazz fan.. and as m first post this is only fitting

sure.. its jazz. but its more along the lines of a cross over than straight jazz. most true players would not call then jazz.. but .. i would like to think other wise.

a few of my fav jazz heads that i find on heavy rotation on my players

    bad plus
    mmw
    tony williams

Coltrane is one of my idols! I actually play tenor sax so you kinda have to like coltrane heh heh. But i've been really getting into this group called Jazzanova. Their CD In Between is amazing! Must check it out! It's a mix of jazz, hip hop and they always change it around. Some easy listening when you light up the bong.
