    Default Spinpro trimming machine

I recently had a chance to try out a new Spinpro trimming machine & decided to post a little review about it.

Definitely speeds up the trimming time, needs no electricity & only about 16" around, 14" tall weighing about 10 lbs. Much easier to move around than the Centurion & Rolling Thunder machines I've used before, & the finished buds are manicured about the same.

The raw material is prepared the same way as the larger powered machines, the buds all get stripped off the branches & done while fresh before the leaves start to wilt. I also strip off most of the fan leaves & everything dead or yellow, & stuff without any sugar before I chop (looking ahead to making bubble, if it doesn't have trichomes it's just wasting space in the bags).

First couple runs I figured out that a couple handfuls at a time worked well, turn the crank about 7 or 8 times, open it up & trim off some of the hard to get bits for a minute & go another 7 or 8 turns to have it finished. With pretty much all trimming machines perfectly round buds trim perfectly, chunky buds tend to miss spots. On the bigger automatic machines I feed one end & sit at the other end where it comes out with a pair of scissors.

First couple pics are the stripped down plants & bin of buds after taking them off the branches, then the spinpro in box & in action.

The plants I'm working with were 16 old purple kush moms I got & flowered out under the plasma lamp & 2 1000w hps. Did all the trimming myself while on the couch in front of the TV, & spent more time stripping the nugs off the branches than it took to actually trim them, about 3 hours to strip everything & about 1.5 to trim it all. Would've been faster but some good movies were on.

Dry weight turned out to be 1lb 2oz, was expecting more but they were old moms, guess that made some difference. Normally with a pair of scissors it takes me at least 6 or more like 8 hours to trim a pound while I'm not staring at a TV. With 1 person working the spinpro & 3 stripping branches I could easily see more than a pound an hour getting done.
I'll have to try it out on a bigger harvest with some helpers in the near future & see how much I can get done in a real full day trim session...

A couple more action shots, couple pics of the trim produced & the finished buds on the screen.

The problem with the bigger powered machines is that the trim gets too mulched by the blades, & it just isn't possible to make sticky or melty bubble. The Spinpro has 1 wire that spins & cuts, while the trim gets shredded up a bit it still makes great yields of sticky bubble. I ran 1/2 a ziploc of wet trim in the bubblenow for 3 minutes first run, 3 minutes second then a five minute run catching the 120 - 25 in a mix & got back a little over 14g total. There's a couple pics of the 160 & 90 down below, the 160 is actually pretty good. Even the 190 was sticky & has some kick, although definitly lacking some flavour...

Some pics of the bags as they come out, 160 - 45, everything drying on cardboard, close ups of the 160 & 90.

Dude great little review man. thanks for the thread.
I took some shots at Green Supremes while we trimmed a small half ounce worth of nuggets, but i didnt get the shots i needed, so this is really helpful.

Once again the main reason why i was promoting and NOW selling these units, are for the fact they still allow you to make killer hash from the trim>
Now that is something you can't say about most of the other commercialy available trim machines.

    Peace
    Bubble man

    Thanks

Hennessy, if the strain makes FMCD the trim from the spinpro will do it. The bubble I made from it is a full melt, although I haven't gotten any clear domes from the PK even when scissor trimmed, more like full melt dirty dome...
