Default Anyone know what bug this is?...

Some sort of caterpillar. They like to eat pieces of the leaves and some hang off the stem sticking straight out.

Default Gentleman and gentleman... week 4.

The ladies got a bout of spider mites so I took them outside and sprayed under the leaves with a hose. Three days later I sprayed again. I also squashed them manually and rubbed the leaf undersides where I could. Applied Azamax to the soil and haven't seen anymore caterpillars. Hoping the trichomes will help keep the bugs at bay. I think there are ornamental plants outside that are infested with mites. Going to tackle those plants soon with insecticides.

    Default Week 5

Killing the mites by hand seems to be helping... a little. Did a three day dark period to try to slow them down... helped a little.

    Default Week 6

    20150906_224608.jpg20150906_224705.jpg20150906_224630.jpg20150906_224721.jpg

Wiping the leaves by hand everyday seems to be keeping the mite population to a minimum. Will be harvesting in two weeks; hopefully the buds are mite and caterpillar free!... and mold free.

    On a side note.
The two plants that were stressed the most have the best buds. One plant had a branch broken early in its life and bugs were using the wound as a home. I later split the man branch down the middle on accident whilst training. I covered the split with tape for a few days to shield from the light and the plant just kept growing.

The other plant was a clone that had a deep gash. The main stem was basically 1/4 to 1/2 the size it should have been. The plant could barely hold itself up. The wound almost fully healed over now and the plant is comparable in size despite the slower growth early on. This plant has the nicest buds

The last plant was attacked by the spider mites more which, I think, is why the plants buds are smaller.

Harvested the BD early do to the mites...
    20150914_232111.jpg20150914_232244.jpg

And here's round 2. The official hydro grow. Plan on putting plants in every few weeks to try to perpetually harvest. Currently have Ghost OG(back left)at two weeks, Dream Queen(front right), Chiesel(back right)at two weeks, and Sour Diesel.

Also replaced the box fan with two clip-on fans. There was too much air circulation with the box fan.
    20150914_235754.jpg

Sprayed and drenched the coco of the new plants with azamax and sprayed the tent with bug spray.

Will update the grow again but probably not as much. This round is going good so far. Been bombing and spraying. At least I know what's being used!

    Here's something I found amusing...
