i dont know if metal will work any better than plastic..
perhaps worse because it has the ability to scratch the glass if its too abrasive. <<<---- EDIT just read that info, hmm interesting....

19/22 but i'd be hesitant to put any kind of metal, even if it was coated, around a glass joint since it's a slide-on type.
i'd consider using a coated metal clip if it were to be secured in some other fashion than slipping it on, like a mini C-clamp or something, but that sliding motion with metal has gotta put alot more stress than a plastic clip
btw if u need any plastic ones lmk i have a bunch laying around, use em in ochem lab all the time
