Wink Highland Oaxacan West Texas Style

Here are a few old pictures of what my Highland Oaxacan genetics look like during veg and a few pics of some of the finished product from different years. I hope you like my genetics, they're heirloom genetics my family in Oaxaca have been growing for years [we don't do cartel shit, we just like good weed].

    Enjoy.

That's awesome. You've got a nice wine list there.
Out of all three years, which was your favorite smoke?

Bman, the taste of the Highland is a spicy/sour taste. The great thing is that no matter what it looks like once finished, the taste is consistent. The few folks who have tried it and grown it out tell me it's nothing like the modern day hybrids or more recent landraces. I have to add, that those plants were grown from seed I was given in 1978 when I was 13 and went to visit my cousins in Oaxaca. I have two varieties popping up in my beans, the standard Highland Oaxacan and the more exotic Highland Oaxacan Gold [the vert bud pics ].

I would have to say the bud I got in 2K3, although they were all winners, but that one harvest gave me some highly visual bud almost hallucinogenic in nature and always with the consistent spicy/sour taste. The sad part is, that the big plant in the pic [2K5] was lost to high winds right when it was starting its flowering phase [man, that pissed me off]. Unfortunately for me, the West Texas climate has taken a turn for the worse every year since then .

Still, that never stops me from trying to do a nice outdoor when I can .
