Thread: My premier hash processing thread! 1st ever!

Default My premier hash processing thread! 1st ever!

I was graced with the opportunity, to process some fresh cut buds into concentrate!
To preface these photos, I must say that this is the first...ever...time I have processed and concentrated resin heads.

    We did not use Bubblebags.

The bags may have been dirty.
There is definitely hair/contaminates--VERY modestly--in even the best shit.
We used an electric powered, rotating drill with a long rod, and spiral-shaped apparatus attached to the end.

Five bags in total were used (2 work bags, and 100, 75 and 25 micron).
We stirred for quite some time; this was truly a balls-out mission to get a feel of what we were working with.

I used fresh cut, frozen flower tops coated in resin from head to toe.
The strain is wholly independent from any seedbank, grower, etc.; a friend crossed the strain, and called it: Mango/Widow.

We did not weigh out the wet material--probably a mistake.
    Sorry.

It fully melts and bubbles--though no domes.

    It tastes incredible.

There was 2 grams of the 25m.
    And .7 of the 2nd run 25m.

    .3 of the 75m.
    and .1 in 2nd run.
    Heh.

And about .7 of the 100m.

I feel it was totally worth concentrating every bit of resin from these plants--no matter how much came of it in weight.

I am showing the pictures I feel exhibit the most contaminates--I would like your opinion as to what I should do to reduce them.

    Enjoy.

Would you advise I let it sit out for a couple more hours? What surface can I let it sit on?

    Thank you

from the time you scrape it from the bag it can take up to a week to fully dry or ,more depending on the relative humidity.

I use a cardboard surface and it dries relatively quickly. Although there might be some moisture left, its totally smokeable after about 24 hours (especially if you chop it up). I wouldn't say its ready for longterm storage, but the bubble never lasts long enough to qualify for that

Chop, dry on cardboard, chop dry on cardboard... repeat the process.

And for the hairs in there, maybe try really pointy tweezers...

And to reduce the contaminants in the future, clean the bags you are working with before hand.

    (I think...)

a couple of things. first, looks great but definitely wet. personally i put my wet hash on the press screen and on a shammy towel for a bit. then chop it up and and spread it out on a silk screen i got from the arts and crafts store. stack em with cardboard in between each screen(gland size) and do a quick chop once a day. smokable in 2 days, dry in 7. now you've got some dry hash, looks good smells good taste's good but damn those pesky hairs. make sure you've got a nice clean surface, and a balloon. blow it up, rub it on your head and vwalah, a staticly charged balloon. run it over your hash a couple times and be amazed. this will get hairs but not other contaminants. ie the thread in the first pic left side. keep it up.
