Thread: RDWC w/ misters

    Default RDWC w/ misters

so i was thinking of making an rdwc system that includes misters in every bucket. in most aeroponic systems the misters are timed to go off for 30 seconds every five minutes. so my question is, should the mister/pump be on a timer? would running the pump constantly have any adverse effects? would running the pump intermittently have adverse effects? is using the misters a good or bad idea? the part of the root that isnt submerged absorbs most of the oxygen, correct? would the the amount of oxygen absorbed decrease because the most of the root mass is wet? ive seen one other forum where someone constructed a system like this, they ran the pump constantly. oh yeah would the water levels get screwed up if the pump is pulling water in through larger tubing and recirculating it through smaller hose with the misters? its conceivable, but is it practical or useful?

thats an awesome rdwc system, but it doesnt answer my question about whether misters would be beneficial or not.
