ive never understood the whole 5mm 7mm and 9mm argument. Just be careful with your glass and it will treat you well. Glass is going to break when it gets dropped on to a hard surface regardless of glass thickness.

^^ that will always be true. But I still prefer the feel of a 7mm illadelph in my hand over a 3.2mm RooR.

That's simply not true. Anyone who has ever owned a 9 milli us tubes knows so. that thing can take a brutal punishment unscathed.

i held a 3. somthing mil roor the other day i thought it was gana break just from me holding it ha
oh yea and its now broken...
not from me holdin it though tipped over on his table, if a 7-9 mill were to fall over like that there wouldnt of been a scratch...

Well I bought a 3.2mm .de RooR LS (beaker so it's even thinner) as my first decent DD, while I was very careful with it I did manage to send it flying onto a concrete floor covered by some cheap carpet with no underlay and it survived without a mark, a few months later when I got some more serious glass I gave it to my best mate who has used it as a daily driver for the last several years and it's still as good as the day it was bought....
